why do some people hate McCain because he was a war hero?
I think it’s wonderful that he put country first so I could lay on my comfy pillow on Saturday morning munching on a pop tart watching Scooby-doo, and I could rock on to Bruce Springsteen and go see a movie as a kid, why is it always those who do the least for the country who that hate those who put their life on the line for them the most? shouldn’t they be grateful? isn’t that why this country is free and we have choices to join the armed forces or not because of men like him?
I don’t think many people have anything against his war experience per se. I appreciate his sacrifices and I think most people appreciate veterans in some sense. But I do not think that being a veteran makes him any more knowledgeable about how governments operate. Nor does it make him more qualified to represent me and my wishes in this government. Yet I have sometimes gotten the impression that he thinks talking about his military experience is good enough to convey those characteristics when it isn’t. He should know better. Peace!
