I have been to establish a list of dogs known for my website Numerology Pet for some time now. I know that my favorites are but I was wondering who are the most famous general. Over there are so many famous dogs that I do it in five groups, and then I'll do a final round with the top dogs of these groups.
The most famous dogs (based on online chat) with names beginning with the letters S to Z are:
10. Old Yeller's classic "Old Yeller" books and films
9. Toto the Cairn Terrier the "Wizard of Oz" movie and books
8. Wishbone the Jack Russell Terrier from the PBS television series "Wishbone"
7. Tramp animation film from Disney Lady and the Tramp "
6. Underdog of the "classic Underdog cartoons
5. Chihuahua Tinkerbell is of Paris Hilton
4. Snoopy Beagle of the strip "Peanuts" comic
3. Snowy the White Fox Terrier in "Adventures of Tintin" comic strips
2. Santa's Little Helper Greyhound of the TV series "Ths Simpsons"
… and the most famous dog on this list …
1. Scooby Doo's "Scooby-Doo cartoons and movies
Dogs not rank in the top 10 were Sadie cocker spaniel who is Oprah Winfrey Show, Sandy of Little Orphan Annie "cartoons and the game, the binder cartoon" Get Fuzzy ", Brother Solomon is cocker of Oprah Winfrey, Sophie Cocker of Oprah Winfrey, Sparky the TV series "South Park" Spike, who is Snoopy in the comic strip "Peanuts," Splash, which was U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy's Portuguese Water Dog, Spuds MacKenzie Bull Terrier advertising Budweiser in the 1980s, how Strelka was a Soviet space dog, Sumo Bichon Maltese terrier who belonged the former French president Jacques Chirac, the Tigre of the TV series of the 1970s "The Brady Bunch," Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (puppet) Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Winnie, who is "Girl Next Door" Bridget Marquardt Pekingese, the Wellard the Belgian Tervuren BBC series EastEnders, Woof of the "Mutts" comic strip, Zero the ghost dog movie "Nightmare Before Christmas" and Zuul demons dog movie "Ghostbusters."
Thus, a fine mixture of dogs in the top ten films (Tramp, Toto, Old Yeller), television (Scooby Doo, Santa's Little Helper, Underdog, Wishbone), comics (Snoopy, Snoopy), and real life (Tinkerbell). I was quite surprised by the order of five.
I Snoopy would be sure to number one. Instead of Scooby Doo, Santas Little Helper, and Snowy were all above Snoopy.
I also was surprised to see Tinkerbell in the top 10, but I guess it just proves you should never doubt the ability of Paris Hilton to generate publicity. Not surprisingly, nine of the top ten dogs are characters, not real life dog, Tinkerbell with just being a real live dog. It is a shame that these brave pioneering Soviet space dog does not know better, so I'll mention Strelka again.
I compiled this by searching the list of dog names listed on a number of search engines and their ranking by the number of web pages, discussion forums, photos, videos, etc. online that are available.
